Mia Tru Wallace Auguste is a Multidisciplinary Creative with a special interest in Fashion Styling, Still Life, and Artistic Direction. As a practitioner, her work explores her passions for art, film, and history, particularly Jean-Michel Basquiat, Cruella, and 80s Ballroom culture, all of which have focused on movements that have shaped or actually influenced today's collective culture.
Her experimental approach, combined with confident problem-solving abilities, is attributed to her neurodivergence, having to find alternative forms of working to navigate her way of thinking.
Born and raised in South East London, enriched by the melting pot of cultures and diversity, particularly her Caribbean roots and upbringing, has played a tremendous part in defining her ethical and moral messaging, and moves with her in anything she creates and is a part of.
Growing up, Mia would play The Sims 4, creating characters with varying backstories, personalities and character arcs and styling them accordingly, which has inspired her visual storytelling through clothing and objects. To her, everything has meaning and a story to tell.
Mia’s core Belief is that when you have an idea, you must follow through with it. Whatever you do, it must be pursued, whether it be in the present or in the future; it must be made or be a part of something, which she has found to be a continuous routine in her life.
